Hello GEBE friends and readers,
I hope this finds you doing well and if you live in the path of either Hurricane Helene or Milton (or both!!?!), I especially wish you well and hope you and yours survived the storms in good shape. It has been a rough two weeks for the southeastern United States and will continue to be challenging for those whose homes were damaged or destroyed.
Helene slammed into my backyard the very day I published the last installment of our Good Eye, Bad Eye serialization, so I haven’t had a chance to respond as much as I would’ve liked to your lovely comments about the Epilogue. Belatedly … thank you all! I hope the ending of the book provided closure and satisfaction for your reading experience.
Just today I received my first shipment of author copies. They were majorly delayed by the hurricane. UPS tried more than once to get up to my mountain home to deliver them but the roads have been blocked—first by downed trees and power lines, then fleets of electric company bucket trucks and other workers trying to stabilize the roadside where it washed away.
Today I was out on an errand and saw the UPS guy driving past me. I flagged him down. Lo and behold, he had my box on his truck. Yay!

Patience is the order of the day!)

Details were in an e-mail I sent out to all of you on September 22, 2024. If you signed up for an annual subscription, there’s obviously no hurry to cancel. Those subscriptions are good for one year from the date you signed up. But if you signed up for the $5/monthly rate, Substack will charge you $5 at the beginning of each month until you tell them to stop.
